What brought you to Mohawk College?
The fastest possible post secondary path to the money. The promised $2+ million Stelco career they promised back in 2004 when I was in grade 11 at Simcoe Comp. The closest Trade college I could commute to daily with a proper Co-op program.
Tell us about your favourite Mohawk experience?
The Co-op experience with help securing a Co-op that lead to a full time post college career.
What impact has Mohawk had on your life?
My education lead to a career at age 19. Full time apprenticeship by 19 and the pay I earned during my 1 year Co-op paid for the down payment on my first house at 21. Paved the way to provide for my family and be a proper man that supported his wife and children.
What are you up to now?
I am now 17 years into my career as a Millwright. Jobs have changed, but the career is still paying off! My families future is secure in these hard times (the past 5 years) and the next 20 years (yup it's a life time sentence fella's) will be an adventure!
