What brought you to Mohawk College?

I knew right after high school that I didn't want to go to University. My dad actually was the one who suggested Mohawk College because he was an alumni. I remember looking through the program options, not sure what I wanted to pursue. I eventually decided on the Business Marketing Program. This was just the beginning and I ended up completing my post graduate certificate in Event Management two years later.

Tell us about your favourite Mohawk experience?

Oh where do I begin! While completing my diploma and post graduate certificate at Mohawk College, I was a CSEP student, competed in the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition and sat on the Mohawk Students' Association Board of Directors as VP Marketing & Communications. I can't pinpoint a favorite experience because the three years I spent at Mohawk were filled with so many wonderful memories.

What impact has Mohawk had on your life?

Mohawk definitely played a major role in helping me get to where I am today. I took advantage of many opportunities such as networking events, volunteer opportunities, and leadership positions in hopes that I would build my network and land an awesome job! It all paid off in the end. Because of these opportunities, I was able to land an internship, which lead me to a job that I loved doing for eight years.

What are you up to now?

I am currently one of the Event Coordinators for the Special Events team at Mohawk - how cool is that! I ended up back at Mohawk College, after almost 10 years and it definitely feels like home. The College has changed a lot since I was a student, but it's still such a familiar place all at the same time. I'm so excited to be working for an incredible employer and be a part of a truly awesome team.
