What brought you to Mohawk College?

Mohawk College financial services course is approved for both the FP Canada and Moody’s/Canadian Securities Institute (CSI). I was an international student at that time and I checked FP website to enroll in 2 year financial services program. Only very few colleges were offering this course and I found that Mohawk College has the best course structure. This, I decided to join Mohawk College.

Tell us about your favourite Mohawk experience?

I started my course during COVID time. I was taking my course online from my home country. In my class, there were only 3 international student and only I was taking my course from outside the country. My professors were so supportive. They made sure I never felt excluded or left behind. They personally emailed me to see my progress. I really appreciate their help during that hard time. I really want to thank Mrs. Christian Dicarlo for all constant support and time.

What impact has Mohawk had on your life?

During my time in Mohawk College, I participated in many Mohawk events and it really enhanced my people skills. I never thought I could do a sales role but right now I am doing a sales role because of those people skills which I learnt in Mohawk College. I also became more empathic to people who are in need and try my best to help them.

What are you up to now?

Before I even graduated, I had three job letters from three different banks and it all thanks to my professors' support and guidance. I am currently working in CIBC bank as a financial services representative. I am pursuing my CSC certificate right now and after that I am planning to become a financial advisor.
